Demand for Improving Air Conditioning in Hotel Rooms
The ANA Intercontinental-Tokyo, formerly known as ANA Hotel Tokyo, was built in June, 1986, as part of Akasaka Arc Hills, a commercial and residential complex, with a designation as an international city hotel. The building was built with 2-pipe fan coil air-conditioning system. On the brink of its 10th year anniversary, the hotel conducted an evaluation on the building and facilities against other latest city hotels. From analyzing guest room questionnaire, it was discovered that 96% of the total complaints were related to air conditioning.
In order to resolve the situation in response to the complaints, the hotel considered upgrading to dual cooling and heating AC system to provide option for switching freely between the two functions.
Also, with further analysis, it became clear that it gained cooling load since the time of hotel completion.
